Baton Rouge Telco Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial institution committed to quality service and sound financial management. We originated in 1936 for employees of Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company. Today, we provide financial services to meet the needs of thousands of members. We now extend our field of membership to everyone that lives, works, worships or attends school in the metropolitan area of Baton Rouge, including Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, Saint Helena, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana and Tangipahoa Parishes. Our main goal is to help more individuals and families reach their financial goals and serve the needs of our members.

As a member, you have a choice in the operation of this business by voting at our annual meeting. The Board of Directors is elected by the membership at the annual meeting held in March of each year. Each credit union member age 16 and over is entitled to one (1) vote in the election of directors. Also, your account with Telco is federally insured to at least $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, NCUA (a U. S. Government Agency). Congress temporarily increased NCUA deposit insurance from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2009. Please see www.ncua.gov for more informaiton. .
